Mountain to the Sea

A view of Arthurs Seat mountain from Dromana pier showing how it seems to flow right down to Port Phillip Bay.
The lower end on the right is known as Anthony's Nose.

From mountain to sea
World of mixed environments
Bush, sea, farms and wine

This view shows how clusters of boatsheds line up round the shoreline.

A Christmas Scene

A cute Christmas display at Benton's Square Shopping Centre, Mount Martha
(Unfortunately, no matter at what angle I took a photo of this, someone's face melted into reflection!)

Amidst shopping buzz
A non-commercial display
A small Christmas soul

Be Still

A view of one of the mooring channels near Frankston beach.
Where the boats are moored on the left, the water is so still that the boats and pier poles seem to continue into the water.

In quiet stillness
When sun and winds are sleeping
Time to gather dreams

Greyed Worlds

Grey, rainy skies over Frankston beach looking toward Oliver's Hill.
The tracks in the sand are from a beach grader that cleans the sands - especially in the summer tourist season.

Even on grey days
When loneliness haunts spaces
There's gentle beauty

Why Did That Chicken...?

The Gaga Gallery at Tootgarook is a fun place to wander.
Why did that chicken cross the road?
Try the outside garden and there are stepping stones leading to answers...
(Click on the above collage to enlarge!)

The chicken question
A legendary problem
Fun to find answers

Summer Needs an Alarm Clock!

Paddling close to the shores of Dromana beach on Port Phillip Bay.
This man is brave.
Intrepidly he wears short sleeves.
The weather is unsettled - winds increasing, wimpy sun and it may rain very soon (and it did!)
Summer????

Summer is sleeping
Could this be a new season

A Gentle View

It was time for our last day at school - last Friday - and time for a Christmas luncheon.
This is the zoomed view from Settlers Inn, South Cranbourne - at the entrance to the Mornington Peninsula.
(In the distance are the Dandenongs - mountains to the north east of Melbourne.)
The rain was lightly falling - hence the misty appearance - but our spirits celebrated the close of another era!

Closing an era
All the laughter and the tears
Fade in misty rain

Country Mailboxes

Well seasoned mailboxes lined up on Arthurs Seat Road.
They represent farming properties down a nearby country lane.

I Saw a Strange Flag

Near Dromana pier, I discovered that a special flag had been created for Dromana's 150th anniversary in 2011.
The green and gold are Australia's sporting colours and the stars represent the Southern Cross on our national flag.
And in the left cornwer of the flag you can just see "150"!

Green and gold in flight
Keep the colours waving high
Community pride

Watery Mirror

Still morning waters round Dromana pier

Hush of the spirit
In the stillness of morning
Breathless beginning
