In Progress

Signs in this design may appear throughout the Enchanted Maze Garden at Arthurs Seat.
They are signs of new features.

X is for xyloglyphy...

X is for Xyloglyphy
(Continuing my series on the Mornington Peninsula)

Xyloglyphy means the art of carving in wood.
And there are many wood carvings at the Enchanted Maze Garden, Arthurs Seat
The above figure looks like a soldier.

This one looks like an Aboriginal woman's pensive profile

Garden Plates

Part of one of the first garden features at the Enchanted Maze Garden, Arthurs Seat.
(It used to be called Arthurs Seat Maze.)
Colourful plates decorate the metal pyramid shape in the garden.

Bridge with no direction...

All the strange rock formations at London Bridge Ocean Beach on the southern end of the Mornington Peninsula always fascinate me.

moody winter skies...

Strange how a Winter beach can feel so soft, so calm, so lonely.
And sometimes it feels like a drama on stage - Nature's way!
This is Dromana beach in the latter category.

Kites 4 Kids

This trailer was parked at Rosebud beach.
It advertises a most interesting business.
Kites 4 Kids - beyond just flying kites - offers kite parties and workshops.
A very interesting website!

W is for weird...

W is for weird...
(Continuing my series on the Mornington Peninsula)

To me, the above photo, taken at the Enchanted Maze Garden, Arthurs Seat represents my idea of weird.

There is a classical like figure in the foreground.
Behind that is a hedge, with some creative topiary, which has been transformed into an intriguing mural.
And in the background is a frame of eucalypts.
That MUST be weird, but fascinating.

Skies from far yesterdays...

Winter sunset skies at this time 5 years ago at least had a silver glimmer.
Today's skies are all clouds laden with rain!
The above skies were captured at Arthurs Seat.

V is for village...

V is for village...
(Continuing my series on the Mornington Peninsula)

The village is Shoreham - by the sea on the eastern side of the peninsula on Westernport Bay.
It is a village area very easy to bypass.
There is no shopping precinct.
The general Store has gone.
And the homes are few.
Quite surprising to find this world on the vibrant Mornington Peninsula.

The sign above has been there since January 2012.
There is just the sign.

Nearby is the old post office - weathered but not worn.

Across the road from the post office is the Shoreham hall - once the Shoreham school.

But this is the hinterland area.

Not far away are the waters of Westernport Bay.
And a walking trail offering wonderful views of the coastline.
