extra feature...

This woman at the Australia Day celebrations on the Dromana foreshore last Saturday, amused me...
She has her mobile poised...
She is carrying a little dog on a lead under arm...
And there is an odd extra feature on her back...

a donkey bag? a child's bag?

each to their own...

The great thing about Dromana's Australia Day celebrations
is the foreshore and beach setting allow everyone to find their own entertainment
beyond the crowds...
Yesterday's photos were 8:00am 'pre-crowd'...
This photo was taken when the crowd set in...
The foreshore trail was packed...as can be seen by all the legs at the top of the photo...
(The sea wall becomes a popular sitting area...)
But these 2 children found their own entertainment on the beach...

Some chose to seek greater heights...

And one woman chose a quiet place further away from the main entertainment area
to read a book by the sea...

sharing...

early morning at Balnarring beach...
There are many horse communities in my world...
And a section of Balnarring beach is reserved for early morning exercise of horses...

life is strange...

I know... this scene looks rather odd...
Originally I intended to capture the passing boat on a trailer in Mornington's main street...
I  aimed the lens for a spot ahead of the boat and waited for it to cross the picture frame..
But circumstances had other ideas...
The boat - or at least, the car - suddenly picked up speed...
A woman suddenly emerged from a shop behind me and crossed the frame...
And the passing boat revealed a man on the other side of the street
who looked as if he was chasing the boat...
At first, I was going to delete the photo...
But then I noticed something else...
The boat cast a large shadow shape on the roadway...
How perfect for Shadow Shot Sunday 2...
So the photo lived to share...
(And how strange that the boat is called 'Reaper' - without the 'grim' thank goodness...)

alternatives may just be

take a playground seat...

last Monday on Australia Day, the Dromana foreshore was crowded...
Not too many seats were available if someone wanted to rest awhile...
This innovative mum shared a piece pf playground equipment with her young one...
