Himalyan Journey

Himalayan Journey is a fascinating little shop just off Main Street, Mornington on Port Phillip Bay.
Imports of Himalayan products - mainly felt - are a feature.
Sales support the poor Nepalese women and give them an income.
The shop also supports the Shouangchou Village school in Tibet.

Felts, silks and candles
Bright Himalayan wonders

When I read Himalayan, silk comes to my mind. For me this is a great place to look for a good clothing. Thanks for the visit! ^_^

That seems to be a colourful place.
Fair trade is what we want for the entire globe.
Hope they sell a lot.

The colorful goods are made in a remote place - perhaps we can dwell on that a bit. We hope to purchase as much as we can, as it is an aid to many. Yet, we purchase these colorful items with impeccable craftsmanship - we want the style and grace of the colorful cloth. Nice!

Nice shot Gemma. I would certainly support that shop. I regularly buy things from the Tibetan stall at the market but am sad when they sell antiques to support their people. I have bought a few and maybe some day I can take them back to where they belong.

Such a delightful looking shop! I'd love to spend some time there -- much to the dismay of my pocketbook!! Great, colorful capture for the day, Gemma!

Please go inside and take more photos of what they are selling. I adore the people and the crafts of that area. My dream is to travel to Base Camp of Mt. Everest to meet the people and see the mountain.s Don’t guess that one will ever come true, but it is fun to hope. The colors in the post are so nice and typical. genie

What a funky little shop that must be!

WHERE RED ABIDES

A day filled with scarlet, they say,
Can make the sad heart skip and play;
For where red abides,
A little bird hides
And sings every worry away.
