Last weekend was the Victorian Labour Day long weekend. And on that weekend, the Mornington Peninsula celebrated the annual Kite Festival at Rosebud by the beach.
The actual festival is on the Sunday.
But Saturday is a great day to get photos of the kites without jostling crowds
- because on Saturday the kite flyers take their kites for a test run.
That is when I took this photo.

What a beautiful week-end for the kite festival .... Red tentacles dancing against a blue sky .... perfect!
Flying octopi in the air are startling - so far out of their element in the sea that we are compelled to look up instead ofdown in the depths for such an elusive creature!. Very cool!
I love kites and the more original the design, the better I like them. I really love some of the complex geometric designs. Very nice pic for a Ruby Tuesday. Well done.
Stunning photo!
