Here in western Oregon, umbrellas are to keep the rain off, not so much the sunshine (we like whatever we can get of it usually). Florida is different ... all year around you need shelter from the sun.
A common sight here around terraces as well, though the words will tend to be different.
Ready to serve another day. Recently we have had an influx of food trucks. They bring their own tables and umbrellas. It's a nice addition to the local street scene.
