We have great white pelicans around here, but they are quite shy of people and good close up photos are hard to take. They are a beautiful bird.
Seemingly so awkward looking, but I like them. They're real characters.

I love pelicans at work for dinner where they dive so fast in search of food. Of course, we see the softer side of the bird with the mom watching her hatchlings proudly. Lovely capture!
