Chloe and Wine

Poplar Bend is a small, intimate winery in a picturesque setting at Main Ridge near Red Hill.
The winery was founded in 1988.
The founder, Mr Keith Dunstan, chose the famous painting Chloe as its label.
The original painting can be found in an upstairs bar of the Young & Jackson Hotel, opposite the Flinders Street station in Melbourne.
A 19th century French academic nude painting by the master painter, Jules Lefebvre, the 1875 painting was a favourite with troops on R&R leave in Australia during the Second World War, especially US marines.
More details of the sad story of Chloe HERE!
More details of the amazing journeys of the painting HERE!
