Pale Lemon Banksia

Amazing what flowers may be found near a beach.
Banksia integrifolia appears late summer on the Mornington Peninsula.
It is a fascinating, hardy, pale lemon flower that doesn't seem to mind strong salty sea breezes.
This one was flowering just beyond the sand line of Dromana beach.

Striking hardy bloom
Like a brush of pale moonlight
Last glimpse of summer

That's a very interesting flower. Such a perfect construction, looks like man-made.
We don't see such exotic beauties in our parts.

Reminds me of a round hair brush. :)
Lovely find! I see that little insect seems to appreciate it as well.
