Over the Christmas period of the summer season, a Mum seal and pup stayed awhile near Dromana beach.
A sign on the rocky steps leading to the beach here warned the curious to stay away and give them space.
I was able to take this photo from the beach wall of the baby playing in the waters of Port Phillip Bay.

Aw! How wonderful to see such visitors on our beaches...
Great captures, Gemma!
Now thats what I call fine whiskers! Sadly I no longer live adjacent to the beach so I rarely see such creatures. Have a great New Year Gemma.
Oh, these are priceless, Gemma! I do love the close up! What great captures to start the year! And I hope your new year is off to a great start!

Gemma -- that picture just made my day! It really captures the seal's "personality" (and I swear they have them!)....Great. Happy New Year!!

Fabulous shot Gemma!
never seen a seal up close, you're so lucky!
What a precious baby seal. I know you were thrilled to be so close to him. Your second close up shot is awesome...so much texture and detail to the picture. The water in the first one is stunning. Such nice photography. genie
The pup is just adorable. You were so lucky to have seen this little fellow. The sign sounds like a good idea, I would imagine Mama would not like anyone near her baby.
How cute! What a very nice exhibition!
Awwwwwwwwwwww, this is just too darling for words. Makes me want to reach out and pet that whiskered nose. Precious.
A walk around OSO BAY
