Kirkpatrick's Hotel (also known as Kirk's) is on the Esplanade Mornington overlooking Port Phillip Bay.
The building style seems to be like a meeting of worlds.
Classical style columns are set in a very modern piece of architecture.
The external colour theme is black and white with a touch of red in the umbrellas.
Even the side wall incorporates a column feature.
Bold, stylish facade
Column inserts and dark glass
Touch of red contrast

It's an interesting design Gemma and it has an excellent position overlooking the bay, I bet it's a popular spot.
I like it, but I wonder if it will wear well over time. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
I do like the design very much, it's different! Looks like a fun place! Great post for the day, Gemma, as always! Hope you have a great week!

Those kind of hotel designs don't appeal to me but I love your photos. The pop of red against the grey building is a nice colour combination too!
I like the design but I hope the surrounding buildings are similar designs or it would look out of place. Beautiful capture with great colors. Have a wonderful day.
Nice capture, Gemma. Haven;t been to this one, but certainly one to put on the list to visit.
Great design.
I really do like the linear quality of these 2 pictures. I find the hotel to be most appealing and attractive. The red umbrellas really set off the gray. genie
Love the design, especially the red umbrellas. :) Thanks for sharing.
The building just MIGHT look a bit dreary if not for those RED umbrellas!! And so might we ...
The way you take the picture is great,...Happy RT!
No one at Kirk's on this grey day? What a pity not to take advantage of those brilliant scarlet umbrellas!
BOY IN BRIGHT RED SHORTS
Boy in bright red shorts,
With a shirt of blue,
Strolling on the Malecón —
I wish I were you;
Carefree and content,
Nothing much to do,
Chillin’ in your bright red shorts
And your shirt of blue.
