Beaches...

entrance to Beaches restaurant at Mornington...
This was originally St Andrews' Presbyterian Church built by William Grover in 1867.
Reverend Caldwell served a long tenure with the church when he came to Mornington in 1874.
In May 1892, the Caldwell family suffered a terrible loss when three of their sons
James, William and Hugh
were drowned in the Mornington Football Disaster.

What a tragedy Gemma, three sons together, it would be hard to recover from that. Beaches does look like it may be a good restaurant.

What a loss. A pretty building, though.

I love the style, the old church not a cold and imposing old stone European building, but list in feel and an always approachable house of worship back then. The lovely building adds a sense of grace to offset the terrible piece of history...

I thought I recognised that building! I do find it sad when old historical churches are sold off and become restaurants, shops etc.
What an incredible tragedy to lose so many children at once... even just one would be devastating!
