Every country in the world has idiots.
Sad indeed. I've heard of people having their gardens stripped of plantings during the night. There are some real baddies out there!
I recall reading about an ancient tree that had recently been cut down in a forest (in British Columbia, I think). Signs like this are needed, sadly.
Some people are retards and we have to remember them that mother nature is to be adored and protected for our salvation!

a neighbour of ours had a tree chopped down by the city, by mistake. I doubt he is getting that much money in compensation.
