I'm glad to have found your blog, I really enjoy your daily posts. Love your pictures!
This looks like a Swallow to me, maybe a Welcome Swallow or if it had a black chest band a Barn Swallow? Not familiar with Australian birds. The Barn Swallows are just arriving back in the UK this month, always a welcome sign of spring.
I've no idea what kind of bird it is, but it's a sweet little thing.
Awwwwwwww, I love it. A piece of serenity to end my afternoon. Thanks for the peaceful feeling that has come my way by viewing your beautiful post.
The bird appears to enjoy looking at the vistas, the faraway lands, at least from the nest. 'Do I stay", "do I go" - these types of thoughts seem to be present. Perhaps a spell of rest is all he needs, and why not with a view like this?
It does look a bit like the swallows currently nesting in my nest box. It does look like it is lost in thought or maybe just has its eye out for a tasty bug.
What a lovely little bird and such a delightful capture, Gemma! Wonderful shadow shot for the day! He does look special indeed! Hope your weekend is going well!

Just sitting and watching... it's a great pastime. :)
...and the little one took flight the instant you snapped the shutter, right? :)
Quaint!
I agree with a few others - it appears to be some sort of swallow. Lots of lovely photos on your blog!
What a sleek little chap!
What a lovely moment you have captured...
sweet little one, definitely looks deep in thought
What a simply beautiful shot to start the day! Great job Gemma! Namaste,
John
Fantastic shot of the bird.
What a sweetheart. He does not seem to care that you are encroaching on his territory with a funny thing call a camera. The wee bit of yellow on his throat is so lovely. Sorry, but I cannot help you with the type of bird as I know nothing. genie
I too think it is a barn swallow. They are usually not that hard to get close too. :) Love your shot. :)
not a clue what bird that is other than interesting .. my first reaction was 'dont jump'!
