Rock Sculpture

Ashcombe Maze at Shoreham on the Mornington Peninsula is a popular family experience.
There are beautiful gardens and art features tucked around the mazes.
This is just one of many.

Rocks smoothly weathered
A space for soft reflection
Like a precious cairn

Somehow the rock sculpture has a sacred ambience - a symbol of Nature's cathedral.

Makes me wonder how the sculptor raised the top rock to make it sit without falling! (Or are they bolted together in some way?)

I second EG Wow's question? That also intrigued me.

Love how the rocks are balanced so perfectly. My son and the rest of us are always in the creek out front building hoo-doos where we stack and balance smaller rocks on top of one another. This one is really impressive. genie

Ashcombe Garden trail would be nice to walk, judging from this stone sculpture and its sign.

PS. I like the haiku you wrote for this sculpture, too, Gemma.
