Yarn Bombing

Jenni Frendo (a.k.a. Yarnifer) is  a rebel with a cause
and devotee of Yarn Bombing – an artistic, creative and contemporary handicraft movement.
Jenni is one of many contemporary yarn bombers making their mark around the Mornington Peninsula.
Weather and exposure impact the art, but then the art threads are "recycled".
Jenni's art currently features outside the Red Hill South Cellar and Pantry.
Details of her work are HERE!

Street Market Colours

Main Street, Mornington markets are held each Wednesday.
These are the longest running street markets in Victoria, Australia - about 30 years.
The market is dedicated to Australian designed and made products.
Often, street musicians contribute to the atmosphere - from drums to violin.

Like a carnival
Of colours, scents and textures
A buzz for the soul

Pillow Face

For the end of October each year, Mornington Peninsula people create crazy, unusual scarecrows for the annual scarecrow festival in the hinterland.
(The scarecrows become a street feature and it's fun to follow the trail!)
This one at Red Hill decided to hang around a little longer.

Recycled pieces
A pillow, hat and blue jeans
Voila! Weird scarecow

Boat Out of Water

My neighbour's boat parked on his front lawn while it awaited a new engine.
The boat name fascinates me.
I think it is a play with the expression Yarra happening, but the last part seems to have been lost in the execution.
The Yarra is the river that runs through Melbourne.

Boat without water
As if lost in the desert
Body without soul

Accidental Blues

Bike riders are a common sight on my Mornington Peninsula.
But this was an accidental photograph in Dromana's main street.
I was intending to to zoom in on the bent figure on the window, but, in the process,  my finger accidentally clicked the camera button and this is the result.
I have a photo of unintentional blues - blue poles and a rider all decked out in blue!
