Rye Clock Tower

Clock tower in the heart of Rye shopping centre almost seems lost in the construction work happening behind it.
And to confuse it more, the immediate shadow is cast by the telegraph pole.
It looks as if the shadow belongs to the clock tower but doesn't quite match!

Time locked in turmoil
Mismatched jumbled construction
Discomforting scene

This is the view of the tower from Rye beach, just across the road.
Somehow the visual scene is chaotic!
Maybe when the construction is complete it will all look more balanced and composed!

I think you're right Gemma. It's a great looking contemporary clock, just a lot going on around and behind it. Have just enjoyed looking through all your posts that I missed in the last few days.

The cock has a style all its own, modern and perhaps chic - when seen all by itself. In the first view, the urban jumble is chaotic as you say - the pace of progress is so fast that many things seem out of order...

There is a lot going on, but I do think it's a really cool clock! Be fun to see a shot when the construction work is done. Great capture and words for the day as always, Gemma! Hope your weekend is going well!

Fascinating shadows made by the wires, however.

It does look a bit chaotic at the moment, but it will probably improve. It's a nice clock, and the shadows are nice and crisp. Nice shots!

There certainly is a lot going on in that first photo. The second one sorts it out quite nicely. But the jumbled look and sharp edged shadows are fine. I love the intricity ofn the jumbled version a lot! I also like the tower itself. A familiar sign, Rotary International, seen posted from so far away, cool!

I put in a new link to my blog at Hey Harriet's. I screwed up the first one. Hope you have time to take a look.

Peace

Oh, who needs "balanced and composed" when you can have such a delightful jumble?

SHADOW, SHADOW

Shadow, shadow drawing near,
You are all alone, I fear;
Let me be your new-found friend—
I’ll stick with you to the end!

I was so fascinated by the clock and its shadow that I hadn't noticed the construction until I read your caption.

That is a cool, contemporary looking clock. It is a shame that it is surrounded by so much chaos as time marches on for the neighbourhood.
