Waters at Coolart

The wetlands at Coolart are simply beautiful!
Even when the bird life is scarce until Springtime nesting, the waters and grasses are magical.
For more details on this fascinating peninsula property, see tomorrow's theme day posting!

Just a Winter's Afternoon...

A view of Arthurs Seat mountain in the distance from Schnapper Point, Mornington Peninsula.
It was a soft Winter's afternoon with a little play of sea mist round the base of the mountain.

And a touch of wings

Walk the Walk

Arthurs Seat State Park is a popular walking area.
One of the longest walks - Two Bays Walking Track - is from Dromana through varying terrains from mountain to country farmlands to Cape Schanck on Bushrangers Bay, Bass Strait.
The length of the track is 26km.
But if you don't have the time to enjoy the full walk, there are many mini versions along the way like this delightful Kings Falls Circuit Walk.

Heronswood in Late Winter

Heronswood in Dromana is a beautiful garden world in all seasons.
In winter, the bonus is being able to photograph the old home more easily because the trees are leafless and don't block the view.
The house was designed in 1866 in the Gothic Revival style.
Granite blocks were quarried from the nearby Arthurs Seat mountain.
The gardens have evolved as cottage and organic gardens.

Time in a garden
Like living close to old worlds
Like breathing Nature

Sorrento Winter Shadows

It's not often that shadows - when it's sunny - take up more space in the main street of Sorrento than do the people.
But in the winter time, when the holiday crowds have gone, this is quite possible.
