Taco Joint
One of many unusual shops along the beach road at Rye on the southern end of the Mornington Peninsula
I liked how the little fence added its own falling shadow artwork to the facade.
Convenient place
Salty air stirs the taste buds
Taco tasting treat

Rye Ranger's Office
Like a mini cottage is this ranger's office right by the beach at Rye on Port Phillip Bay.
It gets heavy use in the Christmas summer holiday season when the whole foreshore from Dromana to Rye is like a sea of campers in caravans and tents.
Fortunately, many trees and colourful boatsheds break up what could be a December-January eyesore.
Cute little office
Summer bookings for campers
Key to the outdoors
What I can't work out on this main sign is that odd "bricky" feature on the left.
An odd textured tent?
It even looks like the replica lime kiln further down on Rye foreshore.
Limestone was quarried in the area during the 1800's.

Rosella in the Blossoms
Rosellas are loving either the apple or pear blossoms in our Dromana Spring garden.
In fact, I am sure we get far more rosella visitors than usual at the moment!
Rosella mantra
Happiness is a garden
Heaven is blossom

Rye Clock Tower
Clock tower in the heart of Rye shopping centre almost seems lost in the construction work happening behind it.
And to confuse it more, the immediate shadow is cast by the telegraph pole.
It looks as if the shadow belongs to the clock tower but doesn't quite match!
Time locked in turmoil
Mismatched jumbled construction
Discomforting scene
This is the view of the tower from Rye beach, just across the road.
Somehow the visual scene is chaotic!
Maybe when the construction is complete it will all look more balanced and composed!

Sculpture in Sound
The Enchanted Maze Garden at Arthurs Seat has a wide range of fascinating features.
This sign marks the setting of one of them.
As you step into the bushy, treed area here, you set off a mechanism and the whole area is filled with the sounds of native rhythms.
A haunting experience!
Very easy to become addicted and wish to set off the rhythms over and over again!
Soulful Mimih sounds
Like the drumming of heartbeats
Gift of the bushlands
