Spring Sky at Rye Back Beach

A view of Rye Back Beach on the southern end of the peninsula on Westernport Bay.
The fenced area on the right is an attempt to deter people from wandering the sandhills where the threatened hooded plover nests.

Help a Hooded Plover

At the stairway entrance to Rye Back Beach, Westernport Bay is this rather sad sign.
Hooded plovers nest through the warmer seasons, so that means holidaymakers in large numbers are walking the sands.

Fragile little one
Struggling to live its lifestyle
We must understand

Atrium Interior

An interior view of the Atrium near the Safety Beach golf course.
This area is open with a skylight above. It is often used for Sunday afternoon musical performances.
Round the sides are entrances to public and private function dining areas.

Safety Beach Country Club Golf Course

One of several water features - 26 lakes - at the Safety Beach Country Club golf course.
This one is near the Atrium's beautiful dining world and is where golfers tee off.
The whole housing estate in the area is new and advertises as being a golfer's estate.
Many homes are open to the golf course and provide a range of golfing facilities.

First Spring Apple Blossoms

In spite of all the wind and cool weather and flickers of sunlight, apple blossom has managed to struggle through in Dromana.
This photo was taken in a segment of afternoon sunlight with hints of shadows.

Reflection Etching

Many of the newer homes/units close to Port Phillip Bay in the Safety Beach area are 2 storey.
Rather than opt for large blinds on the windows, some are opting for shade film on the glass.
(And they still see the water views!)
As a result, reflections becomes eerie silhouettes.

Face of Anthony's Nose

Blue skies highlight the rocky face of Anthony's Nose as it runs right to the Nepean Highway.
This rocky area used to fall directly to the sea, but it was blasted back in the 1920's giving more direct access to the southern villages of the peninsula.

Antipodes

The word antipodes, for me, invokes thoughts of some far away Eden place where indulgence in some special lifestyle culture is the happy norm.
This shop combining a range of popular, literary and rare books with newly presented artworks is a wonderland for the hungry, creative senses.
The sign may appear small and simple, but it means mountains.

Pyramid Magic

Another unusual feature in the Enchanted Maze Garden at Arthurs Seat.
This metal pyramid with plates and tiled base is an old attraction in the garden, but it has recently been refreshed by giving it a designer space with manicured shrubs on its corners.
A bluest blue sky gives the whole scene a bright beauty.
